homage ::

Chanel's Resort '10 was presented as an experiential show on the boardwalk along the Venice Lido.

350 guests watched from sun beds as Lagerfield's creations were revealed. hats and cloaks covered tiny, corseted "could- be" lingerie as bathing suits.

there is still amazement on my part that the first models to take the runway were both strutting in classic Chanel silhouettes while in barefeet.

the mood changed when "early Coco" emerged down the boardwalk (this time in heels) in crisp white and  black sailor inspired looks.

cottons and knits emerged, in bold deep colors accented with covetable accent pieces. i love the hat box/purse (?) Jourdan Dunn has her claws on::

slip dresses with the iconic Coco Chanel logo ::

and then...there was tweed. classic coco, with a twist. chunky necklaces and open toed booties, not quite distraction enough from the revealing black tops ::

classic elegance ::

after hours ensembles ::

Lagerfield's homage to the inspiration that was Coco was well thought out. the collection, hair and make-up really took this show to another era.

love.
