here's a little glimpse into a new project i've been helping out with...

staff from the tannery and concepts, as well as other local businesses, are featured alongside animals that have been rescued by the shelter and other pets for Jamn 94.5's DJ Pup Dawg's 2010 MSPCA Calendar.

london based designer ryan mcelhinney creates unusual pieces for the home.think, women's legs under a lamp (no, not a christmas story style- think shiny and long), vertical grandfather clocks and swarvoski covered wedding cake toppers (m/f and m/m- very marc and lorenzo).

the maison martin margiela fashion house, sans margiela, is expanding their collections to include fragrances.

the parisian perfume launch brought in bloggers and press alike for a, seemingly, well thought out presentation. focusing on the non-branding mystery of the fashion house the grassy clean smell "Untitled" was presented.

::clean smell, clean bottle, clean presetation. many bloggers have touched upon this launch. i recommend reading notcot for more personal feedback and images...

i finally made it over to charles street in boston to my friend peter's new spot, Uncle Pete's. i don't know why i have been so overloaded and busy lately, but it's no excuse...

painless ::

Chanel's online boutique will be offering temporary, quick and painless, "skin art" based on their spring 2010 runway designs starting next month. it's like a dream come true.

:: according to hint, it will cost about $ 78.00 for a pack of 55 assorted pieces, including double hanging CC garter belts, chains, entwined twigs, leaves and more.

wonderland jewels ::

costume designer tom binns will be creating pieces for the disney released alice in wonderland due out this march. the collection will consist of 6 pieces ranging from $1,000- 1,500 and will revolve around the characters- the mad hatter, the white queen, the evil red queen, etc.

binns will also put out a lower priced collection ($100-500) through disney couture to be sold at boutiques throughout the country including kitson, fred segal and bloomingdales (according to myfashionlife) and at his nyc store.

rarity ::

not every designer can move their products and designs into status pieces. isabel marant, the parisian designer who first hit the scene in 1994, has designed and promoted (or rather not promoted- since her close connections with editors and celebrites have brought the spotlight on her designs on their own) to the point where they have become a cult-like symbol, and quickly.

the designers product rarity has lead to much lust after pieces, which have been featured everywhere, most notably in my mind on jakandjil (the otway boot, shown below. COVET.) this boot was sold out in minutes it seems: in part because the designer only allows orders to be placed in small quantities to even smaller boutiques- these boutiques are not allowed to sell online, and are not allowed to post images or prices, according to the WSJ.

her collections are finally coming -fully- to the US, with her first boutique opening in new york city early this year. net-a-porter will also pick up her spring 2010 collection which is sure to sell quickly, so keep your eyes open!
