Burberry Prorsum F/W 2010 ::

Christopher Bailey presented a solid collection for the Burberry Prorsum F/W 2010 collection (of course, Burberry Prorsum is crack, so aptly put by my best friend...i think thats the perfect way to put it).

it was hard to look at the clothing making it's way down the runway, because the boots, clutches and bags and- pause- more perfect than perfect jackets were holding my attention. i split them up for you below. click on images to view larger.

:: F/W 2010. slim fitting trenches, knit tights, big brass buttons.

:: fashion crack. cropped and long jackets, big sheep lined "funnel" collars, belted detail from wrist to elbow, aviator supple leather... very 70's. very covetable. ahh.

:: details. classic clean make-up and soft hair. buckles, shearling, zippers. thigh-high alligator boots with racing stripe up the back, leather platform shearling-lined, messy buckled, mid calf-boots (crack. i'm a big fan of messy) and slouchy shearling-lined booties.

:: leather, alligator, long studded sling bags (used by models as a clutches- perfect) and big leather and python bags with handles and straps.

Christopher Kane F/W 2010 ::

Christopher Kane took a step away from the bigger than life animal faces and bright colors of the past couple of seasons and focused on something, it could be said, more subdued:: lace, leather and florals.

the collection revolved around the pop colors of the flowers entwining their way up the dresses, shirts and skirts of the collection- the rest of which was all black, lace, leather and topped up with lace-up booties (* the first pair in a future collaboration with Giuseppe Zanotti). the sleekness of the leather pairs off well with the school-girl flounce of the a-line skits and the bright embroidered flowers that find their way onto most of the pieces.

Central Saint Martins | London ::

the Central Saint Martins graduation show during London Fashion Week went above and beyond what typical designers are showing for their own F/W RTW collections.

the student designs are bold, luxe, geometrical, structural, inspiring.... the designs that made their way down the runways give a sense of fashion of the future having a great foundation.

Charles Anastase F/W 2010::

Fall doesn't often cause designers to give us color; and if it does, it's usually subdued. but Charles Anastase broguht us vibrant, in your face, pop off the page color for his Fall/Winter RTW collection.

the collection, titled Winter Graden was a play on climate change- echoing the norm is no longer the norm. winter is warm, summer is cold. why not wear a bright blue dress in the middle of fall? it's probably going to be summer weather.

Aquascutum F/W 2010 ::

Michael Herz's F/W 2010 collection for Aquascutum was full of fitted long dresses, wool skirts and jackets.

most of the collection was belted tightly at the waist with a knotted belt. i love this effect. he also styled the models in flat silver ballet flats that tied together the entire collection.

the designer, who according to style.com took the last season off while his company was being sold, came back with a seemingly focused intent of bringing in his long sleek silhouette paired with an outdoor look.

Unique F/W 2010 collection ::

Topshop presented it's F/W 2010 Unique collection at London Fashion Week.

::the presentation was given amid a fall scene of bare branches and fallen leaves, showcased the fashion powerhouse's fall pieces; jumpsuits and boy shorts, denim, blazers and extra long sweater dresses. and the best part? all of this was presented on models as animals- messy matted hair and antlers, fuzzy eyebrows and fluffy ears.

Hakaan F/W 2010 ::

London started off, according to the many reviews and editorials, with an unexpected bang. Turkish-born London designer Hakaan Tildirim showed his collection to an uncharacteristically well-known crowd (for london standards) including Carine Roitfeld, Emanuelle Alt and Kate Moss.

Britt Aboutaleb of Fashionista commented that not only did she not know who Hakan was, but did not know why he was such a big deal. the show, i'm sure, told all.

the big-name models, including anja rubik, lara stone and natasha poly were all almost unrecognizable in some form of make-up that made their faces blue and their eyebrows practically disappear.

the collection consisted of luxe fabric and structural shapes: dresses that flowed to and from the body. very excited to see what's next for this deasigner.
