LV ::

the newest Louis Vuitton ad's, shot by Steven Meisel, showcase designer Marc Jacobs take on the woman's form for the fashion house's F/W 2010 collection. three models, three generations of super models, all in form flattering, or rather curve flattering, dresses that take on a 1950's feel.

the ads, meant to invoke a feeling of almost "catching" these glamorous models backstage, are shot in such a beautiful light. Christy Turlington has never looked better.

crush ::

everyone's allowed a girl crush, right?

RISD Grad and current NYC- based designer Katie Gallagher creates pieces that are both transitional and unexpected. and her personal style and aura is just ridiculous.

directly after graduating from RISD the up-and-coming designer showcased her Spring 2010 collection to rave reviews at New York Fashion Week. her F/W 2010 collection "the heart of the woods and what I found there" followed suit, bringing her stark straight-forward aesthetic into the collection and into the entire presentation as a whole.

new ::

Agyness Deyn, the british pixie model/actress/singer launched her online lifestyle magazine over the weekend, NAAG.

with a focus on fashion, beauty, places and culture, creative director Deyn and her editor in chief/friend Fiona Byrne focus on everything from must have lipsticks to up and coming bands. all of the articles, according to NYmag, are written by the duo's journalist friends.

"It's places that we go, things that we buy, products that we use," Byrne explained. "We're writing it for our peers, and we hope people who hang out with us in New York and London will find new stuff to be obsessed with. But we also want girls in Ohio to be able to go on and find stuff, too. The fashion, for example, will be aspirational, but accessible. "- Deyn to NYmag during NY Fashion Week last february.

stay tuned.

object ::

SHOWStudio's Object Fetish series has featured atypical pieces by Prada, YSL and Vivienne Westwood. the videos content are written and narrated by Alex Fury, explaining the story behind each of the products, which range from clutches to socks.

one of the newest objects is Chanel's faux fur twined "ice cube minaudiere" bag from the F/W 2010 collection. Fury goes into detail on the collection, the signature Chanel elements found in the bag (namely the CC logo as a closure and the chain, both pieces "plucked" from the Chanel 2.55 handbag) as well as Lagerfeld's tie in of the bag with the collection as a whole.

in true reporter style he dips into a great question, one im sure many fashion critics have asked and will continue to ask of any designer who dares to dream- "Who would wear this?" watch to hear his answer. wink, wink.

:: the newest object in the series is the Martin Margiela's "box". now by saying box, it is exactly that; a tie box-turned-clutch taken from shop stock and lined with napa leather.
Fury's comments on the "box's" aesthetic in regards to Margiela's view on anti-branding ::

"This is a supreme example of designer double-speak - a box as bag, packaging with which to package your own belongings. In essence, they're selling you an empty box, and the wink-wink nudge-nudge irony implicit in that will hopefully be understood by Margiela's astute, intellectual clientele. The humour under Margiela's work - both the man himself, and the team that has proceeded him - is often lost in the intellectual cant thrown around the house. There is certainly a wicked sense of humour in this bag."- excerpt from the article.

:: definitely a series worth mentioning, and checking out. thoughts, lovely readers??
