shoot ::

excited to post some of my amateur behind the scenes photography from the 'club scene' for the Kastle featuring Armani Reign and Domonique shoot last week for "Walking Away".

I came in pretty last minute and styled Khara (in a mix of our personal wardrobes) and Domonique (in a Walter by Walter Baker Romper) below.

Make-up by Gareth Ward (stylebygareth@me.com- use him or find him at Barney's at Copley, he's amazing!)

play ::

i had literally just finished watched Sienna Miller play Edie Sedgwick in Factory Girl when this editorial started blazing across the blog-sphere.

Karl Lagerfeld channels Edie through Vanessa Paradis in this months French Magazine Madame Figaro. Vanessa's hair is way bigger, her lips much poutier and redder, and her face much fiercer than Edie's but the over-all feel is there. 60's vibe, deep kohed out cat eyes and the Warhol Superstar's signature black tights with no pants.

Is Karl playing Andy?...hair/sunglasses...hm.

kate ::

Nick Knight at Showstudio shot this video for Kate Moss' S/S 10 collection for Topshop. You can barely see the clothing in this sunlight streaming video, but really who cares when Kate is prancing around in all her glory?

:: you can catch glimpses of blue chiffon flowing in the breeze, sparkles, a white lace trimmed top, a white silk dress with a butterfly placed in between her breasts, a blue floral see-through maxi dress and a white lace mini dress that Kate pulls up to reveal her tiny bum in the end, which by a trick of light, can't actually be seen.

:: so kate, and so pretty.

Chanel Cruise Collection 2011 ::

Chanel's Cruise 2011 collection was presented in true Lagerfeld fashion in Saint-Tropez, amid celebrities and fashion's elite.

:: the over-all feeling was very relaxed. the runway show began at sunset, as models emerged from a yacht docked in the harbor. either barefoot, holding sandals in their hands or in tiny kitten heels, the models came out in pale chiffon dresses, typical Chanel tweed pieces (jackets, shorts and dresses) and skimpy bathing suits of gingham, beading and black all in a throw back to the 60's and 70's cuts and silhouettes.

white was a common thread, most strikingly seen in the soft white suits with thick wrapped belts at the waist. typical fall colors of pale orange and brown were seen in sun-kissed versions. classic CC emblemed cuffs and bags rounded out the collection, and the models beach waved hair brought it full circle.

:: the evening's show most notably ended with Georgia May Jagger coming out on a motorcycle (from off the yacht?).

campaign ::

images from Mert Atlas and Marcus Piggot's campaign for Givenchy Fall 2010 have just been released, and the campaign has already had a whirl-wind of attention. the designer, Riccardo Tisci, chose to use his own personal assistant and fit model, brazilian transsexual Lea T. in the ads. the collection speaks in volumes through the androgynous collection and models.

via wwd :: "Tisci explained that including a transgender person exemplifies the masculine-feminine dichotomy that has become one of his design signatures and follows coed casting for his Paris runway last March."

:: well thought out, well shot and well designed.

five ::

my top 5 looks from the MET ball monday night. i'm not going to hit you with the media's 'top 50 favorites', or the most classic...but these are really the most inspiring to me.

:: Camilla Belle in Jason Wu with the designer. the red, the flow, the eyebrows. i love this look.

:: Coco Rocha in Zac Posen. i. love. her.

:: Emma Watson in, what else, custom Burberry.

:: Jessica Stam in Rachel Roy. i love the plunging neckline accentuated by the heavy necklace.

:: Chanel Iman in Michael Kors. there were many pantsuits, but this romper takes them all out. hard.
