news ::

after much speculation in the media it was officially announced that Giles Deacon will head up Emanuel Ungaro. the british designer will take over as the fifth designer of the fashion house in five years, according to Fashionista.

the last designer duo of Estrella Archs and Lindsay Lohan, well, flopped..in heart shaped pasties. let's hope the talented Giles can pick up the pieces of the struggling label in time.

:: side note, i love Giles Deacons style. are there any Giles lookbook blogs out there? hm...post to follow.

mine ::

if you know me at all (really- from my best friend to the assistant at my doctors office and the guy at the car dealership) you know i love big rings. and even more you know i love animal rings, especially ones that sparkle. how perfect is this? taking a step out to broaden to sea creatures... love the pink eyes. eek.

:: ring by Noir Jewelry. bought on Gilt today, and is now on its way to be on my finger. future images to come.

a mix of updated classics with new genius, the embellishment and melding of colors and styles is just amazing. he was such a genuine craftsman...who else could pull these concepts off together so beautifully?

Illustration ::

the spanish version of Elle Magazine took some of the most well-known fashion designers and spun them into Disney certified versions of themselves in "La Moda Animada".

:: the characters chosen to represent each designer, as well as the recognizable staple wardrobe elements, facial hair and... ahem...kilts...it's all pretty amazing. Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Jacobs and John Galliano are spot on. and the adoring fans played by the casts of toy story, cars, monsters inc. etc. bring in a fun element.

collaboration ::

Karl Lagerfeld's newest collaboration is with....Coca Cola.

most fashion enthusiasts would have a million guesses and suggestions as to who the iconic fashion figure would do a collab with next, but Coca Cola brings the designer into the land of the mainstream.

Lagerfeld not only designed the Coca Cola Light Bottle for France (an aluminum bottle with pink lid and his distinguishable ponytailed silhouette on the white bottle), as well as shot the ad campaign, below, with models Coca Rocha (styled in pure Lagerfeld-fashion with fingerless leather gloves) and Baptiste Giacobini.

:: via WWD.

:: the ad campaign is set to release in magazines and on billboards April 28th, with Colette and Galeries Layfayette selling limited edition boxed sets with matching bottle openers (about $64.00) ps i want a bottle.

According to WWD, "Lagerfeld has long been a fan of diet cola, and says he prefers to drink it in a delicate crystal goblet to accentuate the taste." a la Coco's goblet. voila.
