vintage ::

Club Monoco has added vintage accessories to some of their stores, including Beverly Hills and the 5th ave store in nyc.

the pieces, pulled from antique fairs across the country, start at $39.00 and seem to be a nice alternative to their overly priced plastic pieces that sell for much, much higher...

L ::

Lanvin S/S 2010 collection.

classic dresses and jumpers. i love the styling. streamlined pieces kept clean, and bright sparkly dresses infused with amazing layered chunky accessories, leather gloves and gorgeous rings, bracelets, bags and shoes with pops of colors.

D ::

John Galliano's S/S 10 collection for Dior with a film noir vibe.

he paired silky, lacy lingerie with power-house jackets and threw in signature gowns, from ethereal whites to vibrant fuschia. The collection was lust-worthy, from the hair and red lips to accessories and styling (the thin sparkly socks and sky high platform sandals? looove.).

:: up-close.

O ::

Rick Owens S/S 2010.

angles and geometric shapes; hello triangles.

:: what is hanging in between the models legs? the entire collection was pretty on point with his aesthetic, and the porcupine's and wispy material hanging in front of the crotch were not needed. otherwise? perfection, as always.

i love the cuffed wristbands, i would love to see how stylists pull this into upcoming editorial spreads. eek.

:: i always love Rick's new and improved take on the leather jacket.

:: he loves his own sneakers.

MMM ::

the controversial Maison Martin Margiela premiered his S/S 10 collection to mixed reviews.

the question of whether the designer is still at the helm of the company is hanging over the heads of fans, the press and buyers alike.

the collection consisted of paper. paper over the knee boots and paper t-shirts on all of the models for the final walk. there were chaps, and chains, and gauzy strips of material. the models make-up stuck to the avante gard norm of the designer, but where was the boundry- pushing designs?

:: in the end, there were a few covetable pieces and looks, and everything was 'interesting', but since when is that the most descriptive word for the elusive designers collection?

RAD::

Rad Hourani S/S 2010.

this asexual collection, was typically Rad, and mostly black (which i love. i could wear all black every day if it didn't depress the people around me so much).

Rad came in with slashes of silver throughout and a splash of white was seen in crisp vests, right shorts and blazers.

:: i love his new take on his classic sliced leggings- the touch of silver really , the detail is truly beautiful. Rad's clothes are what i would ideally like to wear all year round (fall all year round, love.)

:: image i ran across, and i just had to share. Rad as Karl Lagerfeld ::

invites ::

once ignored, fashion bloggers have been embraced by the fashion world and in turn invited by some of the worlds top designers to sit front row at their shows, clearly evident at the recent D&G show in Milan.

Bryan Boy, Tommy Ton and a host of other note-worthy commentators were set up with laptops front and center- blogging and twittering at warp speed.

via wwd.

:: T.T. set up shop and blogged, live from JakandJil:

"SO THIS WILL PROBABLY NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN SO I’M JUST GOING TO BLOG IT. A SEASON AGO I HAD TO WAIT PATIENTLY OUTSIDE FOR ARRIVALS AND EXITS AND NOW I’M SITTING HERE. WHAT A LITTLE TWISTED WORLD THE FASHION WORLD IS????????"

:: blogalista Rumi of Fashion Toast was e-mailing back and forth with Esteban Cortezar of Emanuel Ungaro, all due to the attention her blog brings, when he invited her to the shows in Paris.... fingers crossed, one day that could be me- Rad Hourani, here i am.
