collaboration ::

Karl Lagerfeld's newest collaboration is with....Coca Cola.

most fashion enthusiasts would have a million guesses and suggestions as to who the iconic fashion figure would do a collab with next, but Coca Cola brings the designer into the land of the mainstream.

Lagerfeld not only designed the Coca Cola Light Bottle for France (an aluminum bottle with pink lid and his distinguishable ponytailed silhouette on the white bottle), as well as shot the ad campaign, below, with models Coca Rocha (styled in pure Lagerfeld-fashion with fingerless leather gloves) and Baptiste Giacobini.

:: via WWD.

:: the ad campaign is set to release in magazines and on billboards April 28th, with Colette and Galeries Layfayette selling limited edition boxed sets with matching bottle openers (about $64.00) ps i want a bottle.

According to WWD, "Lagerfeld has long been a fan of diet cola, and says he prefers to drink it in a delicate crystal goblet to accentuate the taste." a la Coco's goblet. voila.

collaboration ::

the Maripol + Marc Jacobs collaboration hits the Bleeker Street store in NYC tomorrow.

designer, stylist, film producer and polaroid artist photographer Maripol was born in France before moving to NYC in 1976. becoming Madonna's first stylist in the mid-80's, Maripol created the singers iconic look that we see every year around halloween... remember the black rubber bracelets? yup- that was her, and she's doing it again for MJ.

her collection with Marc Jacobs consists of bracelets, necklaces, key-rings and t-shirts. these are some of my favorites- you can check them out online now, here.

if the shoe fits ::

after 50 years of Barbie, this anniversary year has lead to odes to Barbie - fashion spreads, jewelry, clothing, window displays, runway shows...

:: let me just say, i love Barbie. always have. i have boxes upon boxes of "Holiday Barbie" stacked in my parents house, all perfect.

after 50 years, and according to WWD 1 billion pairs of shoes, Barbie has teamed up with Christian Louboutin for a collection of new Barbies, new styles, and a new collection of footwear.

The designer featured her pink peep toe pump back in february at NYFW and will release Barbies Diary titled "My Year in Paris with Christian Louboutin" with the first of the 3 dolls in december, featuring images of Louboutin and Barbie in various situations as Louboutin acts as "Barbies Godfather".

:: the designer did everything from staging the images, below, to re-designing Barbie herself with his three models, which will all come in Louboutin shoe boxes- from thinning out her ankles to curving her foot more to fit in his famous pumps.

the barbies will be available exclusively at net-a-porter and barbiecollector.

pierre x gap ::

the gaps continued collaborations with balenciaga shoe designer Pierre Hardy will certainly be a must for me. the last line, which i wasn't impressed with, went for under $98, which is a stretch from the designers typical price range.

having originally launched product for the franchises european stores, pierre has a lot to prove

:: judging by this nylon preview, he should have no issues..available in August.

Sui ::

Anna Sui has signed on to be the second designer to join Target's collaborative series (after, of course, Alexander McQueen- whose pieces were a hit or a huge miss).

Sui tells WWD that her collection will be based on the four main girls from Gossip Girls, and are meant to push the envelope.

:: more Taylor Momsen's rocker and lace look?

or Leighton Meester's preppy- a-la' headbands look?

The collection is set to go on sale September 13th on Target.com and will be available in select stores on October 17th.

cabaret ::

Karl Lagerfield X Repetto "Cabaret" shoe was launched exclusively in Colette shoes and eshop last wednesday the 9th. The patent leather shoes come in a low heel and sandal version available in both black and white with a removable "tutu".

It looks more like a lampshade to me.

Karl Lagerfield = genius. Repetto= classic. Cabaret theme should = beautiful. all three together =big huge confusing mess.

p.s. since when did "cabaret" even indicate a tutu??

im not surprised Louis Vuitton has teamed up with extraordinary director Sofia Coppola.

she has a style and elegance that can only enhance the classic brand, and her collection looks pretty solid without going overboard...

Choo ::

i love my hunter wellies. they're practical, keep my feet dry, look cute and aren't outlandish like a lot of other rainboot designs available.

Jimmy Choo has taken and slightly changed the wellies into a complete "fashion" version of the boot with its croc-feel and collaborative double-labeled logo.
image via Jimmy Choo.

the only detail i really like is the longer strap (its a bitch to tighten/untighten those boots the first time!) and the fact that the croc look won't show the wear and tear of the boots as easily (you know, the white lines from the boots creasing so often).

if you're a fan, make sure to e-mail purchaseenquiry@jimmychoo.com to get on the list to find out when they will be made available (sometime in June 09, exclusively online).

p.s. does anyone even know what these will be going for?
