Anna ::

the 60 minutes interview with Anna Wintour aired this last week on cbs.

while the interview focused on fashion, dreams and vogue...it also never failed to mention, over and over, Anna as the bitch, Anna as the influence behind the Devil Wears Prada, etc.

where's her praise? i mean really... how many times can the word bitch be used and then discussed?

watch the video on youtube here.

:: p.s. the interviewers commentary on the tailoring of the designers he interviews about Anna is absolutely hilarious... and worth watching the 15 minute interview for...

classic ::

German photographer Horst P Horst's iconic image of couture served on a living sculpture is easily one of my favorite images, and one i often come back to for inspiration.

his use of lighting and elegantly draped corset ribbons...send shivers. i want this framed. *someday*

"Mainbocher Corset" September Vogue 1939.

"The corset itself, listed in Town and Country as one of the big events of 1939, caused a furor in France. Mainbocher's corseted waist, defined bosom, and back draping was an abrupt shift in sihouette and introduced the Victorian motifs that were to pervade the forties." via Wikipedia.
