rookie ::

i am absolutely amazed by 13 year old tavi of Style Rookie. she is teeny tiny, but her vocabulary and grasp of the fashion world amazes even the most style saavy.

this girl has become friends with designers through her blog, thus leading to being given front row seats at fashion week, requests of designers to come backstage and has been flown across the world for events...imagine where she will be at 18. watch out.

:: i love her in this nicholas kirkwood for rodarte platform chrome heels.

:: tavi interviews editors and stylists for the roadarte for h&m collection (available December 20th in stores and online!) as well as the mulleavy sisters themselves. view the video below, and read the interview with laura, kate and tavi on style.com.

:: so far, 347 comments have been left...including Coco, Coco Rocha and OhSoCoco. sorry lady, your fans are so obsessed with you that they can't get past your name...hope you have more inspiration outside of your blog fan base.

Rocha Rocha (or is that too Ricci Ricci?)
Coco? (Makes you think too much of Chanel?)
Rochawear (would you get sued for that because it looks so much like 'Rocawear'?)

invites ::

once ignored, fashion bloggers have been embraced by the fashion world and in turn invited by some of the worlds top designers to sit front row at their shows, clearly evident at the recent D&G show in Milan.

Bryan Boy, Tommy Ton and a host of other note-worthy commentators were set up with laptops front and center- blogging and twittering at warp speed.

:: T.T. set up shop and blogged, live from JakandJil:

"SO THIS WILL PROBABLY NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN SO I’M JUST GOING TO BLOG IT. I AM SITTING FRONT ROW AT DOLCE & GABBANA RIGHT NOW SITTING NEXT TO HAMISH BOWLES AND BRANA WOLF, ONE SEAT AWAY ON EACH SIDE FROM GLENDA BAILEY AND ANNA WINTOUR. A SEASON AGO I HAD TO WAIT PATIENTLY OUTSIDE FOR ARRIVALS AND EXITS AND NOW I’M SITTING HERE. WHAT A LITTLE TWISTED WORLD THE FASHION WORLD IS????????"

:: blogalista Rumi of Fashion Toast was e-mailing back and forth with Esteban Cortezar of Emanuel Ungaro, all due to the attention her blog brings, when he invited her to the shows in Paris.... fingers crossed, one day that could be me- Rad Hourani, here i am.

two ::

Fashionista interviews Hillary Kerr and Katherine Power, the two inspired individuals behind Who What Wear in their "Life With" editorial.

From very distinct editorial backgrounds, the two saw a hole in the online fashion obsessed "blog" niche and filled it, perfectly.

talent ::

i have a super huge talent crush (and really, just crush in general- look at him!) on Scott Schuman.

"the man" as editorial admirer's often call him, will be releasing his own book tomorrow- featuring some of his favorite looks from his photography.

former men's director of fashion at a nyc showroom, Scott left to take care of his children in 2005. as he began to take photo's of street driven style and soon began to post it to his blog, the sartorialist, he simply blew up.

re-directing his eye from strictly the streets of new york to milan, moscow, paris and florence (to name a few), Scott's obvious influence is one that attests completely to the power of the blog.

as big as he's gotten, he sticks to his blogspot account.

his twitter account currently has 15,173 followers.

his blog receives hundreds of comments (per post).

his work is featured every month in GQ, can be found in ads for DKNY, and his talent was revered in 2007 when he was named one of the top 100 design influencers in fashion by Time Magazine.

::all i have to say? garance dore is one very lucky woman.

style::

Canadian department store Holt Renfrew launched its fashion blogger inspired window displays last friday.

the homage included windows styled in the likes of Jane from Sea of Shoes, BryanBoy, Tom of JakandJil and Scott Schuman of the Sartorialist and Rumi Neely of Fashion Toast.

while the store did not reach out to these bloggers for input, they all seem pretty pleased...

sos ::

Jane from Sea of Shoes announced her collab with Urban Outfitters yesterday on her blog...

i love the lace up boot...but the rest? doesn't remind me of Jane, at all... huge fan of 17 year old Jane and her style, and mostly her ability to acquire such expensive pieces... i would expect more from this collab, but im sure the pull back was on UO's end...

Ye ::

Kanye West blogged about one of my favorite bloggers, Jane of Sea of Shoes

this girls style is ridiculous, and she's only 16. i cant imagine where she will be in say 5 years from now?

nice of someone like Kanye to notice (check out her blog, world wide press has taken notice of her style, why shouldn't he?)
